Production Child Theme Winners

Hey everyone. First. thanks so much to everyone who entered my giveaway. There were some really fantastic comments, and I wish I could give the theme to everyone, but the kids told me that skipping dinner once a week wasn’t going to work for them. Seriously, my kids are so skinny but eat so much. I’m thinking tape worm.

OK, enough about my kids (I promise I do feed them all their meals, lots of sugar and unhealthy snacks, they are just scary thin), I write about them on my personal blog. You all want to know who won.

Technical Details

I use this random number generator to pick random numbers. Since 35 people entered I set it to pick a random number between 1 and 35, then I wrote the number down. Yeah, complicated, I know. The first number was 16, followed by 14.

Next I went to the page and used some CSS magic to show the comment numbers so I didn’t have to rely on my awful counting skills. (as an aside, did you know that your Genesis comments are output as an ordered list, so it takes very little CSS to number your comments if you want to show that.)

OK, so now you know how I do this, just in case you wanted to run your own comment based giveaway but aren’t sure how, so lets get on with it.

I know, you’re thinking, “hey, you said 1 theme for 25 comments and 2 themes for 50 … so there should only be a winner, not winners.” Yeah, but you all did such a good job tweeting it up and I’m still a little sleep drunk from two weeks at conventions in a row, so I gave away two copies. I’d like to give away more, but … you know skinny kids.

Your video child theme certainly seems one awesome theme basically because it uses Genesis as the base framework and I totally love Genesis because Genesis offers so much to the end-user. Your child theme really seems quite elegant and feature rich.

Now What?

I contacted the winners already. They know what to do, and if you want to comment to tell them congratulations even though you really mean “dang it I wish it were me” that would be super cool.

Also, you can still get the theme on the cheap. It’s currently $25, which is a killer price for a rockin Video theme with this kind of functionality.

Remember, you not only get this amazing (I can say that about my own theme right?) theme, you also support future updates for the Genesis Media Project plugin, which is going to become THE Genesis/WordPress media plugin.
